1
Set the parking brake. Put the transmission in Park for an automatic or in first gear for a manual transmission.
-
2
Jack up the front of your Civic using the hydraulic jack. The Civic has a jack lift spot on the cross-member behind the front bumper. Place two jack stands at the jack points behind the front wheels. Lower the front of the car onto the jack stands. The front wheels should be off the ground.

3
Jack up the rear of the car and place the jack stand at the rear side jack points in front of the rear tires. The rear jack point is the tow hook.
-
4
Remove all four wheels and tires using the lug wrench to loosen and spin off the lug nuts. Keep the lug nuts at each hub and note the starting positions of the tires.
-
5
Rotate the tires by moving the front wheels and tires to the rear axle on the same side. The rear tires are moved to the front axle and crossed over to the other side of the car.
-
6
Install the wheels and tires in the new location. Use the lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts in a crossing pattern on each wheel.
-
7
Lower the car from the jack stands by reversing the jacking sequence. Jack up each end of the car, remove the jack stands and lower the car to the ground.

Tips & Warnings
Loosen the lug nuts slightly before jacking up the car to ease wheel removal.
Retorque all of the wheel lugs after driving the car approximately 60 miles. Reinstalled lug nuts have a tendency to loosen when the car is driven.
Do not use the safety jack that comes with the car to rotate tires. Safe tire rotation requires a good floor jack and jack stands.
