How to Change the Tires on a Ford Lawn Tractor
While mowing with your Ford lawn tractor and you hit a sharp object that makes the tire go flat, you will want to take the tire off and fix it as soon as possible so you can get back to mowing. Things You'll Need
- Auto jack
- Needle nosed pliers
- Socket set
- Flathead screwdriver
- Ratchet strap
- Air compressor

Slide the jack under the side of the axle on the Ford lawn tractor that has a flat tire. Jack up the mower 4 to 5 inches.

Grab the center cotter key holding the front wheel on with a needle nosed pliers and pull it out. Slide the wheel off the front axle.
Fit the proper sized socket on the six bolts holding the rear wheel on and unscrew them to free the wheel from the rear axle.

Lay the flat tire down so the rim is against the ground.

Kneel on the tires sidewalls and insert the flathead screwdriver between the rim and the tire. Push out on the screwdriver handle to pry the tire off the rim.

Place the new or repaired tire on top of the rim. Kneel of the sidewalls to force the tire onto the rim. Insert the screwdriver between the rim and the tire and push out on the screwdriver handle to pry the tire onto the rim.

Wrap the ratchet strap around the circumference of the tire. Ratchet it down until the sidewalls on the tire bend out and touch the inner rim bead.

Inflate the tire to the specified air pressure stated on the sidewall with the air compressor. Remove the ratchet strap.

Slide the wheel back on the Ford tractor axle and fasten it back on.

Lower and remove the auto jack.
