How to Use Free Public WiFi With Limited Connectivity

If you log onto a public WiFi Internet connection and Windows gives you a message stating that the connection has "Limited or No Connectivity," this means you have to agree to the terms of use set forth by that network's system administrator before you can actually use the Internet. This often happens in coffee shops and other public places where free WiFi is offered to all patrons. You can agree to these terms through your Web browser.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Wireless Network" system tray icon on your computer. A list of available wireless networks appears on your monitor.

    • 2

Click on the name of the public WiFi network you'd like to use and then click "Connect." Your computer is now connected to the free public WiFi network.

    • 3

      Open your Web browser.

    • 4

Attempt to load any website that you can think of. You will be automatically redirected to the "Terms of Use" page for the WiFi connection you're using.

    • 5

Click the "I Agree" button. This will tell the network's system administrator that you agree to the terms of use set forth by that network. You can now use all of the features of the Internet.
