How to Repair an iPod Touch Screen
The iPod Touch is a heat-sensitive device that allows you to use your fingers to command it. When you think your screen is broken, there are a few ways to check to see if you can fix the problem on your own. If there's evidence of a crack or another physical flaw, you can easily contact Apple for repairs instead of struggling to replace the screen on your own.

1
Determine if the problem is with the screen or the iTouch itself. Plug the iPod into a computer using an Apple USB cable or a power charger to see if the screen responds. The battery might have been dead, causing the screen to black out and the iPod to not function.

2
Try touching various parts of the screen to see if the device is responding at all. The iTouch screen is heat-sensitive and should respond to the touch of a human finger when little pressure is applied.

Contact Apple for support online if the broken screen has a physical flaw, like a crack, or it isn't responding to your touch. If you are still within the 1-year warranty or you have Apple Care, the techs there will fix the problem for free if you send it back to the manufacturer.

Tips & Warnings
If you bought your iTouch at an Apple store, you can also bring it back to the vendor for repairs.
Do not attempt to fix the screen yourself. If the company detects tampering with the device, it may charge you extra for the repairs.
