How to Get an HP Invent Laptop out of Hibernation

Wake your computer up from sleep mode.

When the HP Invent laptop computer has been sitting inactive for an extended duration, it may go into hibernation or sleep mode, depending on your computer's power settings. This saves electricity and prevents the computer from crashing. To return the HP Invent laptop back to its full state, you need to perform a quick task to boot it back up.

Instructions

1. Move the mouse cursor on the HP Invent computer. Typically just moving the mouse is going to wake the system up from hibernation. You can hear the computer's hard drive begin to spin as the system hardware powers back on.

2. Press a few keys on the computer keyboard if the mouse does not wake up the HP Invent. When the computer detects the key strokes it is going to power back on.

3. If Step 1 or Step 2 does not work, press the "Power" button. This typically occurs when the computer has been sitting idle for a long time. Once the computer detects the power button being pressed, it returns back to its standard mode. Do not hold down on the power button too long. If you do, it is going to shut down the system.
