How to Be a Car Salesman on Sims 2
The Open for Business expansion pack for Sims 2 opens a world of business opportunities for game players. Just about any object in the game can be set for sale, including the cars that were introduced in the Nightlife expansion pack. In a few easy steps, you can create a car dealership and turn your Sim into the greatest car salesman in the neighborhood.

Go to the Neighborhood screen and click on the “Lots and Houses” option on the control panel in the lower left of the screen. Click on “Empty Lots” and select either the large or huge lot. Place it in the neighborhood, check the box for “residential,” and enter a name for the lot, preferably a car dealership name. Click the check mark button. Then click on the lot and choose the “Go to Lot” option.

Enter build mode. Click on the shovel icon and click on the flatten lot option. Select “yes” when the game asks you if you’re sure you want to flatten the lot. Start building your car dealership lot by selecting the “Garage” option and placing several driveway pieces on the lot. Place a table and a telephone on the lot.

Create a Sim or select an existing Sim and have him move in to the lot. Direct your Sim to use the telephone to start a home business on the lot. Click on the telephone and choose “Business” and “Start a Home Business.”

Note the control panel that just appeared in the upper right of the screen. Go into buy mode and click on the price tag icon in this new control panel. Click on the “Wholesale Mode Toggle” icon, and your main control panel will have a yellow outline.

Select the "miscellaneous" option in buy mode. Click on the vehicles icon and begin purchasing and placing vehicles on the lot in the driveway spots you created in step 2. Toggle wholesale mode off and place a counter and a cash register on the lot. Build a wall and place a business open/closed sign on it.

Choose live mode again and click on the price tag icon on the upper right control panel. Click on each of the cars you placed on the lot to set them for sale.

Turn the business open/closed sign to “open” to open the dealership. Watch for customers to come onto the lot. Click on a customer and select “sales” and “basic sell” to make your Sim act as a car salesman.
