How to Replace F1 Shortcut
Many computer users have become accustomed to the F1 key on their keyboards being a shortcut to launch the Windows Help and Support Center. This support function is useful for new users, but as they gain more experience they may find that they no longer need help. If you find yourself in this situation, you can reassign the F1 key to serve as a keyboard shortcut to another program or folder.

Go to your Windows Desktop. If the program or folder for which you wish to create a F1 shortcut has an icon on your desktop, proceed directly to Step 2 now. If not, double-click on the "My Computer" icon. Double-click on the icon representing your computer's hard drive. Navigate to the program or folder for which you wish to create the F1 shortcut.

Right-click on the folder or program in question, and, when the list of choices appears, click on "Properties"

Click on the tab labeled "Shortcut."

Click to position the cursor within the "Shortcut Key" text box.

Press the "F1" key on your keyboard, and click "Accept to finish the job.
