How to Mount Marker Bindings

How to Mount Marker Bindings thumbnail
Mounting Marker bindings is simple.

You went out and bought new Marker bindings and skis for this season and now you are almost ready to hit the slopes and enjoy your new equipment. There is just one more important step to take before you jump in the car and head for the lift lines; getting your bindings mounted on the skis. This is a job that is often reserved for the ski shop, but you can save yourself some time and money and get on the slopes and begin skiing sooner by mounting your Marker bindings yourself, even if you have no prior experience.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Align the line on the front of the Marker binding with the center line on the top side of the ski. There is a series of lines on the top side of the ski that serve as a front-to-back placement guide during the mounting process.

    • 2

Center the binding on the ski so that it is equidistant from both of the edges of the ski and use a fine tipped marker to make a mark on the ski where the screw holes on the bindings meet the ski.

    • 3

Drill pilot holes in the skis at the marks you made in the previous step with a 3.5 mm drill bit. Before drilling, place the drill bit next to the ski in the upright position with one end of the bit touching the same surface as the ski. Place a piece of tape on the bit where the top edge of the ski aligns with the drill bit. This will serve as a guide so that you do not drill through the ski.

Align the bindings with the pilot holes on top of the skis and screw them into place with an electric screw gun. Make sure to tighten the screws until the binding is flush with the top of the ski.
