How to Make Money by Sewing Kids Clothes in My Home
Sometimes it seems sewing has become a lost art. Many men and women lack the skills to mend clothes for themselves and their children. When the inevitable tears, frays and holes are found, parents must find a way to repair the damage and salvage those expensive items. If you are good with a needle and thread, you might be able to turn that talent into a thriving side business to bring in a little extra cash.

1
Poll the parents at your child's next play date. Ask who would be interested in a service that takes in damaged clothing, repairs and returns as good as new. Check with all the parents you know to gauge interest in a sewing service.
-
2
Print business cards to hand out to parents you meet. Even if those parents do not need any sewing, chances are they know someone who does.

3
Post colorful fliers in your child's day-care center, school and other places where children and their parents congregate. Groceries can be excellent places to post fliers as well--many groceries host a community bulletin board where shoppers can post items for sale and ads for local services.

Shop at yard sales and look for name-brand clothing that needs a bit of care. Sew the clothing you find, make any needed repairs, then contact a local consignment shop. There are many consignment shops that specialize in clothing for children. When the clothing items sell, you get a percentage of the sale, with the rest going to the shop owner.
