How to Put Sequins Onto Gloves
If you're thinking of putting sequins on a glove, chances are you're trying to copy or pay tribute to Michael Jackson. The late pop star made the sequined white glove a part of pop culture all by himself. But sequins are also a simple yet flashy way to glamorize a pair of evening gloves. Glue is a fast way to get them on, but sequins tend to flake off over time. A far better way to apply them is to sew them on. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Put your gloves on and mark in chalk the areas where you want the sequins to be. If you want sequins to cover the all of the gloves mark off the three areas where the sequins can't go: at the very bottom of the small spaces between your four fingers. Sequins in these spots will just get bent from the friction between your fingers.

2
Take off your gloves and thread your needle. Place your first glove in front of you with the back side facing you. Place a sequin at the far left end of one of the areas where you want sequins to be. Sew this sequin in place using one small, tight stitch through the hole in the center of the sequin.

3
Place another sequin immediately after this one so it is touching, but not overlapping the first sequin and sew it into place with one small, tight stitch. Continue until you have one horizontal row that goes to the far end of the area where you want the sequins to be.

4
Place a sequin directly above the first sequin that you sewed. This sequin can touch but should not overlap upon the first sequin. Sew this sequin in place with one small, tight stitch through the hole in the center of the sequin.

5
Place a sequin immediately next to the one you just sewed. Sew it in place with a small, tight stitch. Continue to sew sequins in place after this one until you have a straight horizontal row. Create continuous rows up the length of the designated area until you cover it.

6
Knot your thread when finished and cut away any excess thread.

Tips & Warnings
If you want to cover the entire glove in sequins, start from the bottom left side corner of the glove by the wrist and sew long rows of sequins up the length of the glove. When you get to the fingers and thumb, sew short rows of sequins up these areas until you cover them.
You can sew sequins onto any fabric. For tougher materials like leather, you must use a strong, sharp needle.
