Google is renowned for being the search engine to find just about anything on the Internet. Music files are no exception. Webmasters leave all sorts of files in unprotected directories on the Internet and Google can help you find them. By entering specialized search strings, you can find mp3's available for download by using Google.

      Open your favorite browser and type "Google.com" in the address bar at the top. Press "Enter". Google's search page will open.

      Type the following search string in the search field: -inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:"index of" "Last modified" mp3

      Refine and repeat your search to be more specific by typing a string like the following: -inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:"index of" mp3 "artist name"

      Replace "artist name" with the artist for whose music you are searching. For example, replace "artist name" with "aerosmith", "billy joel" or "kesha."

      Press "Enter". Google will return results of open directories containing mp3 files available for download.

      Left-click the blue heading links from your Google search results. The directory will open. Directories look different from regular web pages. They are basically just lists of links.

      Left-click the link of your choice. A download page will open. If you don't get a download page, the link is broken. You will have to search around using this method since you are inside directories of various websites that may or may not be updated regularly.

      Download the MP3 file and save it to your computer.
