How to Make Talc Powder

Talcum powder is primarily used as an absorber of moisture, and most people use it to soak up sweat or prevent it. Most commonly, you will see athletes use talcum powder before they compete in a game so that their hands do not become slippery from perspiration. Contrary to popular belief, talcum powder is very easy to manufacture on your own once you have the proper ingredients. In addition, there are numerous recipes you can look up to add fragrances to your talcum powder.

Things You'll Need

  • 11 oz. tapioca starch
  • 4 oz. baking soda
  • 1 oz. kaolin powder
  • 15 to 18 drops of fragrance (optional)
