How to Make Corsages From Christmas Design Picks
Novelty picks are constructed of plastic coated wire with silk flowers and foil embellishments. Fake greenery such as holly, fir or ivy are made for Christmas floral projects. The designs simulate poinsettias, roses, cones, bells, ball ornaments, characters and animals. Christmas design picks can be used to make holiday corsages for clothing, hats and outerwear. Adorned with satin or metallic ribbon bows in holiday colors, your Christmas corsage will shine. The Christmas design pick corsage will last through the holiday season.

1
Cut the Christmas pick with the wire cutters. The main stem will have a thick wire base. Smaller side pieces may have an empty plastic twig-like piece.
-
2
Place a piece of florist wire on a stem of the pick that has no wire inside of it. Floral tape the wire to the plastic stem to give it support and flexibility.

-
3
Pick up a wired piece of greenery. Add a floral stem or novelty stem with a wrapped gift or character on it to the first greenery stem . Hold the second stem slightly lower than the first piece and floral tape them together securely.
-
4
Add a third wired stem to the side of the second one. Tape it in place. If you want a larger corsage add more stems. Odd numbers work best when making a floral piece.
-
5
Floral tape the bottom of all stems and wires to cover the end completely.
-
6
Tie a corsage ribbon or Christmas bow to the wrapped stems or bottom of the corsage. Add two corsage pins to the stem for the convenience of the person who will wear the corsage.

Tips & Warnings
Floral tape gives a finished look to the bottom of the corsage. It ensures that sharp wire ends will not scratch the wearer or damage silk or other fabrics.
