How to Make Foam Dice

Make foam dice to use for decor or games.

Foam dice are usually decorative, but they can be used in games as well. They are less likely to be lost in the clutter and can serve as decor for a child's bedroom or a game room. Foam dice can be made with Styrofoam and craft foam sheets. Kids can get involved in the craft as well and then play with the dice when they are finished. Make your own foam dice with supplies from your local craft store.

Things You'll Need

• 2 identical Styrofoam cubes
• Ruler
• Craft foam sheets
• Permanent marker
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Measure a side of one of the Styrofoam cubes with your ruler to find the size of craft foam squares needed to cover the sides. All of the sides are the same size on both cubes, so measuring more than once for the squares of craft foam is unnecessary.

2. Draw 12 squares, the same size as the side of the dice you measured, onto sheets of craft foam with your permanent marker and cut them out with scissors.

3. Apply an even layer of white glue to one side of each square of craft foam and press them onto the sides of the cubes.

4. Draw dots on the sides of the dice with a permanent marker. Draw groups of dots to represent numbers 1 through 6 on each of the die.
