How to Convert From an MPEG-4 File Format to AVI
The MPEG-4 video container format, a creation of the prolific Moving Picture Experts Group, is a movie file format designed for compatibility with both Macs and PCs. MPEG-4s are normally stored in the MP4 extension and used for online file sharing and downloads. While some programs understand MPEG-4 files, such as Apple's QuickTime multimedia player, there are more applications that understand the high-quality AVI movie format; thus, you may wish to convert your MPEG-4s into AVIs.
