How to Run a Basketball Offense: Post Interchange

This offense is an example of "posting up" ' putting the big players underneath the basket and using their height for advantage.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Basketballs
  • Basketballs
  1. Step 1

    Set the offense in typical fashion: Guard on point, shooting forward in right high post, center in right low post, off guard in left high post, and power forward in left low post.

  2. Step 2

    Pass from the point guard to the off guard.

  3. Step 3

    Dart the power forward into the paint.

  4. Step 4

    Bring the center into the key at the same moment, keeping the forward on the baseline side.

  5. Step 5

    Screen the center's defender with the power forward.

  6. Step 6

    Pass from the wing to the center.

  7. Step 7

    Go to the hole.

  8. Step 8

    Shrug like Michael Jordan, as if unsure why you're so good.

  • If the play fails and the offense retains possession, sling it back to the point guard and start again.
