How to Remove Grease Stains From Fabrics

Greasy foods can end up on clothes and leave their messy stains behind. A special cleaning method must be used to cut through the grease and remove it safely. Test cleaning solutions on a small piece of fabric before covering a stain in it. It's important to ensure the liquid won't bleach or further stain the fabric.

Things You'll Need

• Talcum powder
• Liquid dish soap
• Cloth
• Water
• Laundry detergent

Instructions

1. Sprinkle talcum powder over the entire stain.

2. Leave the powder on the stain overnight, so it can absorb as much grease as possible.

3. Dampen a cloth and pour on a dime-size amount of liquid dish soap.

4. Rub the cloth into the fabric and work up a lather until the stain is gone.

5. Wash the fabric in the washing machine with laundry detergent.

6. Dry the fabric outside.
