How to Assemble a Queen Size Bed Frame
Queen size metal bed frames have improved over time. No longer do you have to juggle and struggle with nuts and bolts. Everything slides and locks together in one simple piece. The newer models also provide an important center rail to provide extra support for the center of these large mattresses. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

-
1
Lay the two long side rails out on the floor parallel to each other. Give yourself plenty of room to work.
-
2
Fit the leg inserts and wheel castors into the side rail sections. Push down hard to firmly snap them into place. Note that not all queen metal bed frames come with the option of adding wheels to the final frame.
-
-
3
Slide the top and bottom support arms open out of the side rail assembly. These should unfold out at a 90-degree angle to the side rails of the queen bed frame.
-
4
Determine which slot to set your side arms into by measuring your mattress. The metal bedframe should be adjustable to fit full, queen, king and California king mattress sizes.
-
5
Lock the sliding side arms in place in the corresponding slots of the adjacent support arm. Some queen metal beds will use interlocking tabs, while others will slide into each other and lock in place. Double check to make sure the frame is securely locked in place.
-
6
Attach the legs to the center bar before installing it on the queen metal bed frame. The leg caps should easily slide onto the metal frame. Push down firmly to secure them in place.
-
7
Locate a hole in the center of the side rails. This is where the center bar for the queen metal bed support fits. Line this hole up with the hole in the center bed frame support.
-
8
Use the nuts and bolts that were provided with the queen metal bed frame to secure the center bar in place. Tighten down with a wrench if necessary.
-
9
Fit end caps onto the rough edges of the queen metal bed frame. This will prevent snags on sheets and dust ruffles.
-
10
Install a headboard on the metal bed frame, if you have one. Line up the holes on the top edges of the bed frame with predrilled holes or clips in the headboard. Use a screwdriver or screwgun to tighten the screws into the holes. Not all metal queen bed frames come with a headboard.
-
11
Repeat this process with the footboard, if you have one.
