How to Sew a Flat Circle to a Tube for a Bolster Pillow
Add a bolster pillow to a bed or a window seat for a comfortable touch that adds style to your interior decor. With basic sewing skills, you can sew bolsters to fit any color scheme and style. While some bolsters have gathered ends tied with ribbons, a more tailored bolster has flat ends. To create this look, sew a flat circle to each end of the tube.

1
Turn the fabric tube inside out. The tube must have an opening in the side seam to allow you to insert the bolster form.
-
2
Insert one flat circle into the inside-out fabric tube through the side opening and push the circle over to one open end of the tube. Make sure the wrong side of the fabric circle is facing the end opening and the right side of the circle is facing your hands as you manipulate the circle.

3
Match the edge of the circle to the edge of the tube, aligning the raw edges of the circle with the raw edges of the tube. Pin the edges together to hold them securely.
-
4
Stitch around the edge with a ½-inch seam.
-
5
Repeat the steps with the remaining flat circle on the remaining open end of the tube.
-
6
Turn the bolster cover right side out. It now has two flat ends and it is ready for you to insert the bolster form through the open side seam.
