Instructions

    • 1

Load the Spy Shot software onto your PC (Windows 98 or higher OS), by inserting the installation CD into your computer's CD-ROM and following the on-screen installation instructions.

    • 2

Install a battery by removing the mini screw that holds the battery compartment cover in place. Slide the cover from the bottom of the camera. Insert a 1.5V AAA battery and then re-assemble.

    • 3

Turn on the camera and confirm the frequency. Press and hold the "Mode" button on the front of the camera until the camera beeps. Press again until you see F5 (50HZ Asia and the U.S.) or F6 (60HZ Europe and Japan) on the LCD. If the mode is incorrect, press the "Shutter" button on the top of the camera to switch to the correct frequency for your region.

    • 4

Prep your camera to take photos. Select resolution and compression settings: "High Resolution" (Hr) or "Low Resolution" (Lr), with "Compression" (CP) or "No Compression" (nP). To change settings, press "Mode" until you see an abbreviation--the abbreviation for the setting NOT in use. Then press and hold the "Shutter" button for five seconds, if needed, to switch the setting to the one displayed.

    • 5

Take photos. Push the slider on the side of the camera up to open the viewfinder. Push the "Photo/Voice" selector to "Photo." Select a subject at a distance of up to a maximum of five feet and then press the "Shutter" button. The camera should beep and the LCD should show the number of available shots remaining. To use the "Continuous Shot" (Ct) or "Self-Timer" (St) features, press "Mode" and then press and hold the "Shutter" button. With Ct, the camera beeps three times for each photo taken. With St, the LCD flashes 10 seconds and then the camera takes the photo.

    • 6

Make a video. Press "Mode" until you see the Video AVI format abbreviation (A1). Press and hold the "Shutter" button to shoot the video. Release it to stop.

    • 7

Record voice memos. Push the "Photo/Voice" selector to "Voice." Press the "Shutter" button once to begin recording. Press the button a second time to stop recording.

    • 8

Activate the webcam. Plug the camera into your computer via the USB cable. Plug in a microphone (optional). Double-click the WebCam Express icon on your computer's desktop. The WebCam Express screen should show what the camera sees through the lens. Adjust the camera's position and/or audio as desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your camera's memory is full, plug it into your computer, double-click the SpyShot Photo Manager icon on your computer's desktop, and click "Get Photos." Follow the on-screen prompts to transfer the saved photos, video or recordings.
