How to Send a Free Text Message to Sprint Cell Phones
Texting has become a way of life for many people who wish to send a quick message but don't want to take the time to make a call or don't want to bother the receiving party with a ringing phone. Google, through its Gmail email program, offers users the ability to send free text messages to Sprint cell phones.

Open the Gmail website and click "Create an Account." Follow the Gmail instructions for opening a new account. Supply a mobile phone number to verify the account information. When the Gmail code appears on the mobile phone, type it into the Gmail webpage and log into the new Gmail account.

Click on the box under "Send SMS" on the left sidebar of the Gmail webpage. Insert the Sprint cell phone number to which the user wishes to send a text message. Press "enter" on the keyboard.

Insert the contact name of the Sprint cell phone owner to whom the user wishes to send a text message. Press "enter" on the keyboard.

Type in the message in the window that pops up in the lower right-hand corner of the webpage. Press "enter" on the keyboard. The user has now sent a free text message to the Sprint cell phone.
