Instructions

    • 1

Locate the bolt-down tabs on the feet of the laundry tub. On most tubs, they are on the insides of the legs and have holes for hex bolts. If there are no holes, drill a 3/8-inch hole through each tab. Trace the inside of each hole on the floor with a pencil.

    • 2

Drill through each hole into the floor. If your laundry tub is in a basement or garage with a concrete floor, you will need to use a masonry drill.

    • 3

Insert a hex bolt through each tab and into the floor. Tighten the bolts with a ratchet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your laundry tub should be located within 2 feet of a floor drain and next to a ready water supply. Check the area with a carpenter's level to ensure the floor only slopes slightly towards the drain.

  • If you purchase a laundry tub that does not have bolt-down tabs, you can use an angle bracket for each leg. Drill through the side of each leg and secure an angle bracket with a bolt and nut. The other side of the angle bracket will rest on the floor. Drill through the bracket into the floor and secure with a hex bolt.

  • Although you may be temped to skip securing the laundry tub to the floor, this is a critical safety step. A laundry tub that is full of water can easily tip, causing injuries and damage to your home.
