Lines for this game are almost always long, so get there early.

Since opening in 2008, Toy Story Midway Mania has been one of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in California. Essentially a giant, four-dimensional ride-through video game, players use their toy cannons to shoot virtual ammunition, such as darts and pies, at interactive screens featuring carnival-style midway games and characters from the Disney/Pixar "Toy Story" franchise. Each of the five game screens contains "Easter Eggs," or hidden bonuses among the targets that, if hit properly, can help players rack up impressive scores.

Instructions

    • 1

Don't overwork your shooting arm during the practice screen, as your firing arm can tire quickly. Save your strength for the Midway Mania point rounds. Make sure your position and grip are comfortable, and experiment with your accuracy.

    • 2

Shoot quickly once you reach the first point round at the "Hamm and Eggs" screen. Fire rapidly as there are no points lost for missing targets in this Disney ride. Shoot the fox on the hen house on the lower part of the screen for 500 points and it will release hens worth 1,000 and 2,000 points. Hit the rat on the barn and it will overturn to reveal three mice for 1,000 points each. Hit all three mice and more 1,000-point bonus targets will appear.

    • 3

Look for the balloons at the top corners of the screen when you reach the "Baa-loon Pop" round. Shoot all five on your side and 500-point balloons will "rain" down on the screen. Toy Story Mania gets even better if players work together. If both players in the cart hit the balloons in their respective corners at the same time, 2,000-point balloons will "rain" down.

    • 4

Plan to use teamwork again in the "Army Men Shooting Camp" screen for maximum points. Within seconds of the start of the round, two 2,000-point plates will fly through the air in the background. If both players can shoot them at the same time, a tank will appear shooting plates worth a whopping 5,000 points each.

Shoot rings at the eight little green aliens in the center rocket the moment Buzz Lightyear's "Flying Tosser" round begins. This may also require teamwork as you have to get all eight of them down at once. They are only 100 points each and, shortly after being shot, they will pop up again. If you manage to get all eight of them down at once, you will unleash the Midway Mania robot. Rapid-fire at the robot's mouth and you will get 500 points per hit. Every time he opens his mouth again, the point value for each hit will increase until you are getting 2,000 points per ring in the mouth.

Work with your partner again for the final screen, Woody's "Rootin' Tootin' Shootin' Gallery." Look for the seven big bull's-eye targets. Each time you hit one, several more will spring from them. Work together quickly and clear off all of the bull's-eyes and the screen will erupt with new 1,000 and 2,000 point bull's-eye targets. The cart will then begin to slowly move as you continue shooting, approaching the last Toy Story Mania screen.

Look for bats in the background once your car moves to the final section of the shooting gallery. The first will be worth 1,000 points. The second will be worth 5,000 points and hitting it will release 5,000-point mine cart targets. Keep rapid-firing on this final round at the targets to rack up as many final points as possible.

Tips & Warnings

  • Brief your partner in advance, or let him know that you'll be shouting out targets to unlock the Toy Story Mania secrets, so he will work with you during the game for maximum points.

  • Rub or shake off your firing hand when traveling in-between rounds to help prepare it for the next.
