How to Install Cafe Con Leche Cyber Software in Ubuntu thumbnail
The goal of Cafe Con Leche is to make the technical aspect of running an Internet cafe simpler.

Cafe Con Leche is the name of a set of programs for Windows and Linux. These two programs work together to make billing, time management and customer relationship management for cyber cafes (Internet cafes) a less technical task. Although Cafe Con Leche has not been developed since 2006, the project lives in in a new project called Mkahawa. Install Mkahawa in Ubuntu to get the features of Cafe Con Leche on your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Firefox and browse to the download page for Mkahawa using the link in the "Resources" section of this article. Click "Server Library" if you are installing the program on the server computer (the computer that customers' computers will connect to) or "Client Library" if you are installing the program on a client computer. A download window opens.

    • 2

Click "Save File." When the download is complete, double-click the file in the Firefox download manager. A window titled "Package Installer" opens.

    • 3

Click "Install Package." Type the administrator password for the computer and press "Enter."

    • 4

Click "Close" then close the Package Installer window when the process is complete. This returns you to the Firefox window.

    • 5

Download "Mkahawa Server" if you are working with the server computer, or "Mkahawa Client" if you are working with one of the clients. Install the program using the same method as described in Steps 2 to 4.

    • 6

Click the "Applications" menu at the top of the screen, then click "Accessories" and "Terminal." This creates a new terminal window.

    • 7

Type "sudo ldconfig" and press "Enter." Type the administrator password for the computer and press "Enter" again. This command updates the shared libraries on the computer, making sure that Mkahawa can utilize the prerequisite software that is installed.

Type "mkahawa -nossl" and press "Enter." The program loads. If you are working with the server computer, type "admin" and "admin" as the user name and password to log in.
