You need to configure your Thinkpad's display settings when connecting to a projector.

The Lenovo Thinkpad T43 is a laptop computer that has two video output ports: VGA and DVI. You can connect your Thinkpad to a projector using either one of these ports. Once you have properly connected your Thinkpad to a projector, you still need to configure the Thinkpad's display settings in order to properly display content through a projector.

Instructions

    • 1

Enable the external monitor port on our Thinkpad. Even if you have properly connected your Thinkpad to your projector, content won't automatically display on the projector unless you enable the external monitor port. To do this, click "FN" and "F7" on your keyboard until the content is shown through the projector.

    • 2

Open resolution settings on your computer. To do this, click "Start," "Control Panel," "Appearance and Personalization" and "Adjust Screen Resolution."

    • 3

Look for the optimal resolution settings for your projector. This can typically be found in the user manual. If you can't find your manual, you'll have to experiment with various resolutions.

    • 4

Change your Thinkpad's resolution by clicking the "Resolution" drop-down menu. Then move the resolution slider up or down to increase or decrease the resolution. Click "Apply" to view the resolution. Most projector's require you to set the resolution higher for optimal viewing. Therefore, if you don't know the optimal resolution, start at the highest and work your way down until you are satisfied with the projector display.

    • 5

Save your resolution once you are satisfied by clicking the "Keep" button. You have now configured your Thinkpad T43 for a projector.
