Things You'll Need

  • Hair dryer
  • Mayonnaise
  • Baking soda
  • Soft cloth
  • Toothpaste
  • Iron with steam setting
  • Mineral spirits
  • Fine steel wool
  • Lemon oil

      Use a hair dryer to dry fresh white stains that have just been left on the wood.

      Rub the white stain with a soft cloth saturated in mineral spirits for a few minutes until the stain is gone.

      Combined 1/2 cup or mayonnaise with 1/4 cup of baking soda. Use a soft cloth dipped in the mixture and gently rub the white stain. The stain should disappear within a few minutes.

      Rub the stain with toothpaste and a soft cloth until the stain is gone. The toothpaste method can be used if the mayonnaise-baking soda mixture does not work.

      Buff the stain gently with fine steel wool saturated in lemon oil. The lemon oil method should be used if the other options do not work.
