Tie a sarong "toga-style."

A sarong is a large piece of decorative fabric that can be wrapped around the body in various ways. The sarong originally was worn by both men and women in the Malay Archipelago and the Pacific Islands. Today, it is often used as a beach cover-up. The "toga-style" sarong look can be achieved with a little practice. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Spread out the sarong in your hands, grasping a corner with each hand.

    • 2

Wrap the sarong around you and gather the material under your armpit--either the left or right side, depending on where you would like the shoulder wrap to be.

    • 3

Tie the sarong in a knot beneath your armpit. You also can simply cross the fabric ends beneath your armpit so that, while they are not knotted, they are secure.

    • 4

Grasp the ends of the tied or crisscrossed material and bring them up over your shoulder. Tie the sarong in a knot on your shoulder. Alternatively, you can cross the ends, pin them on your shoulder and tuck the ends under the material, if you wish.
