How to Install Windows Mail on XP

When Windows Vista was released, the Outlook Express program--a staple of Windows XP--was replaced by Windows Live Mail. This program was also available as a download for Windows XP, and if you have a Windows XP computer, you can download and install it on your machine.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the Windows Live download page (see References) and click on the "Download" button on the right section of the screen.

    • 2

Click the "Run" button to download and run the Live Mail installation program on your Windows XP computer.

    • 3

Select the programs from the Windows Live collection that you wish to install (select only Live Mail if you only need the mail application) and then click the "Next" button.

    • 4

Wait for the installation program to finish and then click the "Finish" button. You can now open the Mail program from the Start menu.
