Find a host for your website. Many are available online for a fee. Also some are free. The host basically stores your website content on their servers and makes your website available to all who use your domain name to get to your website. You may also find web hosts that have web templates you can use to create your site.

Create a website. This can be done in several different ways. The two most popular methods are first, purchase web editing or web design software, such as Dreamweaver, Frontpage or "Expression Web 2. There are also free software packages, such as Komodo Edit or NetBeans. Either way these programs can assist you in creating a web page, often with intuitive and easy-to-use interfaces that allow you to create written content with a variety of design options, graphics, hyperlinks to other pages or sites, navigational buttons and designs, as well as applets and music, sound and video inserts. The second method is to create your website by hard-coding your pages using HTML. In this instance you write the code yourself. This can be done by learning HTML (See Resources) and a text editor.

Publish your website. This is the act of moving your web page to the host servers. This can be done using the host's software, or a utility included with your web design software, or by using a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program. Each of these services will post your web pages to a web server, which makes your website available on the Internet.
