How to Activate a Cell Phone Microphone
When using a cell phone, you may not want to constantly hold the phone up to your ear. You can avoid this by connecting a microphone to the phone. This devices wraps around your ear and not only gives you an external microphone, but also headset speakers, allowing you to partake in the phone conversation without holding the phone to your ear. However, before you can begin using the microphone, it needs to be activated.

Connect the cable running out of the microphone into the headphones port on the cell phone. If you are using a wireless microphone, press the "Power" button to turn on the microphone.

Power on the phone and press "Menu." In the menu, choose the hardware option. If you are using a wireless microphone, turn the function to "On" and you are all set. However, if you are using a Bluetooth microphone, continue on to the next step.

Select "On" for the Bluetooth signal and your wireless phone will search for any wireless signals in the area. Once it detects your microphone, the mic appears on a list of devices displayed on the screen.

Select the microphone. You are now asked to enter a four-digit pair code, which is found in the manual of your microphone. Punch in the code and click "OK." The wireless microphone now activates on the cell phone.
