How to Reset an Anti-Theft Device for a 2003 Pontiac Aztek

The anti-theft device on a 2003 Pontiac Aztek helps to prevent unauthorized use of the vehicle. But, when the alarm goes off unintentionally--a false alarm--it can be embarrassing and sometimes awkward. It will also prevent you from being able to start your vehicle. Disconnecting the battery may not work, and if the Aztek's door is locked you will need to disarm the alarm and reset it.

Instructions

1. Insert the ignition key into the driver door lock.

2. Turn the key counterclockwise to unlock the door.

3. Turn the key clockwise to lock the door.

4. Turn the key counterclockwise to unlock the door. The alarm will shut off and reset itself.
