      Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI "Out" port on the back of the television. Although there are multiple HDMI ports on the TV, this is clearly marked "Out."

      Insert the opposite end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI "In" port on the surround sound stereo receiver.

      Power on the HDTV and the surround sound system.

    • 4

      Press the "HDMI" button on the receiver, and all the audio from the TV should play through the stereo system.
