How to Block Sites in Netscape Navigator
Support for the Netscape Web browser officially ended on Feb. 1, 2008 as the owner of the Netscape brand, AOL, decided to concentrate on other endeavors. In spite of this, some Netscape users remain loyal to the browser. Netscape no longer maintains an add-on directory. However, Netscape is based on the Firefox 2.0 engine. For this reason, add-ons that are compatible with Firefox 2.0 can be used with the final release of Netscape, Netscape 9. Install the BlockSite Firefox add-on to give yourself the ability to prevent users on your computer from visiting certain websites.

Enter the address of the website that you want to block (e.g. http://www.example.com or http://*.example.* to block everything with that word in the name) and click "OK."

Add the addresses of each site that you do no want to be accessed in Netscape.

Place a check mark in the box labeled "Enable authentication" and type a password. This prevents others from using the BlockSite add-on to make changes without your approval.

Click "OK" then close the "Add-ons" window. The sites that you entered now trigger messages from the BlockSite add-on and do not load.
