An Apple laptop

The wireless key is a security password that allows computers and devices to connect to a specific wireless network. For OS X, the operating system used by Apple computers, you cannot delete the wireless key itself. Instead, you must remove the network with the wireless key from the preferred networks to which the computer connects.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Apple menu, and then select "System Preferences."

    • 2

Click "Network" under "Internet & Network."

    • 3

Click the "Advanced" button in the bottom-right corner of the dialog box.

    • 4

Select the wireless network with the password that needs deleting.

    • 5

Click the "-" button to remove the network and password, and then click "OK."
