How to Stop a Firewall From Blocking LimeWire

Is your firewall on your computer keeping you from downloading files with the peer to peer program, Limewire? If so, you can fix this by simply telling your computer to let Limewire past the firewall. Your computer's firewall keeps it safe from outside influences on the Internet. but it can also keep you from getting the files you want from the Internet unless you configure it properly.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" menu in a Windows operating system like "XP." Click on "Control Panel."

2. Double-click on "Windows Firewall." Click on the "exceptions" tab.

3. Click on the "add program" button. A browse window appears. Navigate through it until you find your Limewire program. Double-click on the EXE file.

4. Scroll down through the programs list back in the "Exceptions" tab. Check the box next to "Limewire."

5. Click "OK." Limewire should now be able to move past your firewall.
