How to Make a Call Through Motorola Phone Tools

If you have a Motorola phone and are using the Phone Tools software, one of the best features of this program is the ability to make and receive phone calls through your computer. Connect your phone. Access the Phone Tools application on your computer's desktop. Make sure your phone is powered on, then connect it to your computer using a USB cable. Phone Tools will take a few moments to recognize the phone once it is plugged in. Once it does, the application's main window will be displayed on the computer.

Use the dialer to make a phone call. In the application window, you will see an image that looks like a phone, with a display screen and dial pad. Use your mouse to click the dial pad of the "phone" or enter the number manually with your computer's keyboard. Press "enter" on your computer's keyboard or use your mouse to click the green phone icon on the application window. This will initiate the phone call. Use your mouse to click the red handset icon when you wish to end your call.

Make a call from your address book. If you prefer to dial a number you've stored previously on your phone, this can be done from the application main window of Phone Tools. Using your computer's mouse, click "Menu," then "Send." Select the "Call a contact" option. A window will appear, prompting you to choose a contact. You can now search for the contact by typing their name in the search box. When the desired contact appears, select it with your mouse. Press the"OK" button to make the call. When your call is over, use your mouse to click the red handset icon.
