How to Decorate for a Girl's Birthday Party With Crepe Paper Streamers

Many decorations can come out of one box of streamers.

The book "Suggestions for Decorating and Entertaining on Christmas, New Year's, Twelfth Night," by Dennison Manufacturing Co, says that "Crepe Paper is the ideal decorative material for bazaar booths, because it is easily applied, made in both bright colors and pastel shades and printed in designs appropriate to every season and holiday." It is easy to decorate for a girl's birthday party with crepe paper streamers because they can be used to make many different decorations and can be incorporated into any theme or color scheme.

Things You'll Need

• Crepe paper streamers
• Scissors
• Tape
• Balloons
• Paper tablecloth
• Other craft supplies (optional)

Instructions

1. 

   Mimic the look of a bead curtain in the doorway to the party.

   Cut the streamers to length and hang them in the entry door to the party to create a paper curtain that mimics a bead curtain. Secure the streamers with tape to the top of the door frame.

2. 

   Hang small decorations from the streamers at windows to match the theme.

   Make the same paper curtains for any windows in the room. Cut them in strips where they just graze the bottom of the window seal, and clip on charms, ornaments or other decorations that fit the theme of your party.

3. 

   Tape streamers to the bottom of balloons.

   Tape crepe paper streamers to the ends of the birthday girl's party balloons. Decorate the walls with them, or simply let them float up to the ceiling randomly around the room.

4. 

   Dress up a plain paper tablecloth.

   Tape streamers to a paper tablecloth on the party table. Cut them to length and hang them from the corners or create a design, such as a zig-zag pattern, down the whole length and down the sides for a custom table covering.

5. 

   Create curlicues and other shapes to lay around the table.

   Cut the streamers into different lengths and widths and place them all over the table for decoration. Lay them around serving bowls, in glasses and around plates for a festive look.

6. 

   Add signs and balloons to streamers to hang on the wall.

   Decorate for a girl's birthday party with crepe paper streamers hanging down from the ceiling and around the length of the walls with theme signs taped to them. Create other decorations to match. For example, cut out cardboard princess crowns and glue streamers to them.
