How to Convert a PSD File to JPEG

The extension "psd" characterizes files created with Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop allows a user to create and edit images at a professional level. The PSD files support various color schemes as well as program specific image layers. Photoshop permits you to convert a PSD file into a variety of digital formats including JPEG compressed images.

Instructions

1. Open the Adobe Photoshop program.

2. Use the program menu "File" and then the option "Open" to browse to the PSD file.

3. Double-click the PSD file to open it in Adobe Photoshop.

4. Select the option "Save As" under the menu "File."

5. Select "JPEG" in the "Format" box, and click "Save." Then press "OK" to create the image file.

6. Slide the bar "Quality" to set a desired image file size: larger size corresponds to higher resolution (quality). An approximate file size is given in the field "Size" on the bottom of the widow.

7. Click "OK" to save the JPEG image.
