How to Remove Deodorant Sweat Stains
Sweat and deodorant stains seem to be an inevitable part of wearing clothes. After trying different deodorants to find one that doesn't leave as much of a mess, or allow you to get sweaty, you may have reconciled to having stains in the armpits of your shirts. These embarrassing stains don't need to cause wardrobe stress. Use supplies from your home or local store to remove deodorant and sweat stains from your clothing. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Old, clean towel
- Lemon juice
- Baking soda
- Water
- Old toothbrush
- Laundry detergent

Lay an old, clean towel out on your work surface. Place your shirt on the towel with the armpit area face up.

Pour enough lemon juice on the deodorant and sweat stain to saturate it completely. Allow the lemon juice to soak into the fabric for about 15 minutes. The lemon juice will work on both the deodorant stain and the sweat stain. Rinse thoroughly with water.

Apply a paste made of equal parts baking soda and water to persistent deodorant and sweat stains. Use an old but clean toothbrush to work the paste into the stain. Allow this to sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse the baking soda paste with water.

Always check the care label for washing instructions. Wash your garments according to the directions on the care label.

Tips & Warnings
Allow deodorant to dry before putting on your shirt as dry deodorant is less likely to stain.
Avoid using bleach on white shirts as it will react with the sweat, creating a darker stain.
