How to Change Internet Auto Search
There are many search engines available on the Internet in order to locate various information that you may want. Sometimes it may be best to change the default search engine for your Internet browser if you have another search engine that you prefer. For example Safari, the Internet browser found on all Macs use Google as the standard search engine. Each Internet browser allows you the option of changing the preferred search engine when automatically conducting a search for information. The process takes minutes and you can repeatedly change the default in search engine as necessary.
Instructions

Internet Explorer

Open Internet Explorer and click on the "search" button. A search companion window will open.

Click on "Change Preferences" which is towards the bottom of your screen.

Click on "change Internet search behavior" this option will be available to you as Internet Explorer will give you the option of how it will conduct various online searches.

Click on the new search engine that will become your default search.
Firefox

In your Firefox address bar type "about:config" in the address bar where you type in web addresses.

Next I browser search box that will open, type "browser.search.defaultenginename." Right click "modify" and type in the name of your preferred search engine.

Close Firefox, reopen and see if the new search engine is listed.
Safari

Download Inquisitor for your Mac. (See resources). Inquisitor is an free application that adds a search feature to Safari that allows you to select search engines from different countries as well as custom search criteria.

Close down Safari so the application download changes to take effect.

Launch Safari and click "Preferences".

Click on "Search" and check the box that says" display links to additional search engines." Select "Edit sites" Choose all of the search engines you would like to use as your default search engines.

Close Safari and reopen for changes to take effect.
Opera

Click "tools", then "preferences", and click on the "search tab." There will be a list of search engines that you can select to change your search browser.

Click "okay" and reboot Opera to determine if changes took effect.

Choose a random thing to search to see if the default search engine will take effect.
