How to Purchase an Untreated Star Sapphire Men's Ring

How to Purchase an Untreated Star Sapphire Men's Ring thumbnail
Untreated sapphires aren't as hard to find as many may think.

Sapphires are beautiful, valuable gemstones that come in a huge variety of colors (even red, although red sapphires are called rubies, and they're classified as a separate stone most often). Many sapphires currently on the market are lab grown. Finding a natural, untreated star sapphire men's ring isn't as hard as some people think, if you have a big enough price range. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Go to your local jeweler's. Browse the stock they have and find a sapphire men's ring that you like. Ask about where the sapphire came from. If the jeweler claims the stone is untreated, then ask for a guarantee before you move on to the purchase.

    • 2

Continue to shop jewelery stores until you find the untreated star sapphire men's ring that you want. This could take some time since more people are willing to buy lab created sapphires than not, and you may have to special order the ring that you want.

    • 3

Shop the Internet if you can't find the ring that you want in a physical store. Make sure that you know your ring size, and that you read the fine print to make sure that the sapphire ring you're buying is in fact untreated and natural.

Tips & Warnings

  • Browse both online and in stores to get a sense of the style of ring that you want.

I love that you are advocating the purchase of untreated gems. It is always a better choice. You could always have a ring created. Purchase a gem first and then have it set. There are some great online vendors dealing in untreated gems. Google unheated untreated sapphires and browse through the choices.
