How to Decorate Miniature Artificial Christmas Trees
The Christmas tree is said to have originated in 16th century Germany by Christians who brought evergreen trees into their homes and decorated them with berries and candles. Throughout the years, people have made a variety of homemade ornaments to adorn their trees. With the invention of electricity, bright, colorful lights replaced dangerous candles. When space is low or you'd like to decorate your table or desk top with a tree, a decorated miniature Christmas tree adds a festive holiday touch. Does this Spark an idea?

Cotton or batting around your tree gives a snowy effect. Place your miniature Christmas tree wherever you intend to keep it for the season. Lay the cotton around the base of the tree to look like snow. If you are unable to find cotton that's not in cotton ball form, use cotton batting instead. Cotton batting can be purchased at a craft store.

Mardi gras necklaces make great Christmas tree garlands. Wrap the Mardi Gras necklaces around the tree beginning at the base and working your way up toward the top. You will need about two or three necklaces, depending on the size of your tree. These function as your tree garland and can be purchased at party stores.

Earrings hang nicely from a miniature Christmas tree. Hang old or mismatched Christmas earrings from the tree. Use earrings you already have, or purchase inexpensive ones from a thrift store or dollar store.

Mistletoe works as a tree topper. Finish your miniature Christmas tree by topping it with a sprig of plastic mistletoe. Use the flexible wire part, which is used to hang the mistletoe from a doorway, and wrap it around the top of the tree. Plastic mistletoe can be purchased at craft stores.
