Tips & Warnings
Choose a cool, cloudy day to wash windows. Glass cleaner dries rapidly on hot days, leaving streaks behind.
Use a rubber-edged squeegee instead of newspapers or paper towels for washing windows. Microfiber cloths made especially for cleaning glass work well too.
Vinegar and water make an effective glass cleaner too, without odor and harshness of ammonia.
Never mix ammonia with chlorine bleach. Mixing the two creates toxic gas.
Ammonia irritates skin and eyes. Wear gloves when handling it and keep it out of the reach of children.
