A loofah gourd sponge

The loofah sponge gourd, or the luffa gourd plant, provides you with a natural exfoliating material with which to scrub during showers. Accepting of a variety of soap textures, the loofah sponge gourd is absorbent enough for liquid-based soaps and abrasive enough to adhere solid-based soaps as well. Making your own soaps for your loofah sponge gourd proves to be a simple process that is only limited by your own creativity and soap needs.

Instructions

    • 1

Add the liquid soap base to the glass bowl. Soap bases offer convenience in making soap recipes and can be purchased from a variety of soap crafting shops or websites.

    • 2

Microwave the liquid soap base on high heat for approximately 20 seconds--just long enough to warm it.

    • 3

Add the dry ingredients such as stearic acid and the silk amino proteins to the bowl first, stirring slowly as it is dispersed throughout the soap base.

    • 4

Add the hemp seed butter and royal jelly to the bowl and continue stirring.

    • 5

Put the bowl back in the microwave and warm it for another 15 seconds.

    • 6

Immediately stir in all of the essential oils and lemon grass hydrosol into the warmed soap base. Stir the contents of the bowl for approximately 30 seconds or until it is smooth and creamy.

    • 7

Pour or spoon the contents of the bowl into the plastic bottle and cap it.
