How to Create an Outerspace Paint for a Kid's Room
Give your child the moon and stars by painting a mural of a solar system on his walls. His room will feel extra special with an awesome space mural. Adding special touches to the room--glow in the dark stars, space bedding and alien stuffed animals--will tie the decor together. Does this Spark an idea?

Prep the room with painter's tape and drop cloths. Be sure that all surfaces are protected. Remove as much furniture as possible.

Look at pictures of planets as a guide.

Paint large circles in varying colors around the room. These will be planets. Paint small white dots in patterns to simulate stars.

Add texture to the planet shapes with a paint brush and accenting colors.

Use a sponge dipped in yellow or white paint and swoosh it across different places on the walls.

Tips & Warnings
Dark colors are best for this project, because outer space is dark. However, if you would rather not paint the room entirely dark, stick to white or one dark accent wall or ceiling.
Look at pictures of planets as a guide.
Add paintings of rocket ships, aliens, and the moon if you would like.
Cut out a circle and paint it like the moon or a planet and use it as a head board.
Instead of white paint, you can use a glow in the dark paint for the swooshes.
