      Use your scanner and the software included with it to turn your page of text into an image file.

      Browse to http://www.free-ocr.com/.

      Click "Choose File" and browse to the image from your scanner and click "Open."

      Enter the Captcha code (an image recognition test that shows a distorted alpha numeric code that you must enter to prove you are a human and not a spamming computer program) and click "Send File."

      Copy the text from the field under "Text recognition result:" and paste it into your favorite text editing application.
