How to Learn Chakra Healing
The chakras are energy points in the body. In simple terms, when energy is blocked for any reason in these points (from emotional traumas, for example), a person may develop emotional or even physical symptoms. Healing chakras has primarily to do with releasing these energy blocks and bringing the chakras back into balance. Chakra healing is not an esoteric art only enlightened masters can learn. Anyone who can learn to quiet his or her mind and focus energy can learn chakra healing.

1
Meditate daily. Meditations don't have to be elaborate--in fact, they shouldn't be. Simply sit and breathe and learn to connect with yourself through quieting your mind. Learning to quiet the mind is an essential first step to learning any kind of energy healing. Aim to take 15 to 30 minutes for each meditation session.

2
Learn where, in general, the chakras exist in relation to the physical body. You can find charts of the chakras (there are 7 primary chakras but you can learn about the many others as well) online. Some bookstores also carry books on chakras and these books usually contain diagrams.

3
Practice visualization techniques. The ability to visualize is very helpful for energy healing--many healers visualize specific colors (dependent on need) flowing through a patient's chakras and set forth the healing intent during this time of visualization.
To start out practicing visualization, you can practice simply by imagining a helpful color or a happy scene--do this any time or after you've done your meditation for the day. -
4
Get in touch with your own energy. Some very helpful ways to do this are to practice Tai Chi and/or Chi Kung--both involve learning to feel and direct chi (energy).
-
5
Learn how to ground yourself. Grounding simply means releasing negative energy or excess energy that you don't want. One way (but certainly not the only way) to do this is to imagine you are a tree--let the energy flow away from you, down into the ground through your roots.
-
6
Join a healing group or a study group in your area. If you can't locate them via the internet, look in local metaphysical/new age stores for fliers--or visit a local naturopathic healing center and inquire about groups. You can learn chakra healing on your own, but it is almost always beneficial to receive in-person instruction from someone who has been doing it for some time.

Tips & Warnings
Get a handle on your own energy, and your own chakras, before trying to heal anyone else--you don't need to be perfect and enlightened, but you'll be a better healer if your own system is well taken care of and balanced.
