Breyers can be found in locations across America, from small toy shops to Wal-Marts. However, Breyer Horses are more than mere toys, and the kind of dealer an aspiring distributor wishes to become depends upon the level of involvement desired within the model horse hobby.

1. 

   Aspiring distributors must first contact Breyer.

   Contact the Breyer Sales Department at 14 Industrial Road, Pequannock, NJ 07440. Per Breyer Animal Creations, potential distributors should include, in their inquiry, contact information.

2. 

   Distributors must have a verifiable building address, not a home address.

   Provide a building address. Breyer explicitly condones the sale of its model horses only from business fronts, and thus will not acknowledge requests from individuals seeking to sell "in-house".

   A sales representative contacts potential distributors.

   Interact with an official Breyer representative. Sales representatives contact potential distributors upon inquiry, and discuss and manage all business transactions thereafter.

4. 

   Breyer distributors purchase products prior to sale.

   Purchase models from Breyer. Depending on the goal, distributors may want to provide a wide variety of model horses, or specialize in various limited edition and collection series.

5. 

   Distributors are not bound by pre-determined prices.

   Price Breyer model horses. Breyer states that the distributor is responsible for pricing the models, so distributors must price invoice in accordance with what is reasonable for the public but appropriate for financial gain.

• The more knowledgeable a distributor, the more useful and sought-out that distributor will become within the model horse hobby community. Distributors can participate in model horse shows, and the Breyer-sponsored BreyerFest, in order to increase knowledge and clientele. These horse shows may be live (where participants meet at an event for a model horse show), or photograph-based, where model horse hobbyists submit pictures of their models in scenes.

• Distributors should handle Breyer model horses with care. Breyer will not replace lost Certificates of Authenticity, nor will the company provide market or resale values for past models. Therefore, distributors would be well advised to remain informed about their products. Also, Breyer models are purchased directly by the distributor, and therefore, the distributor must have the abilities not only to purchase models upfront, but successfully resell the investment.
