How to Install a TCS Body Panel Kit
TCS is a company that sells small radio-controlled four-wheel-drive vehicles and accessories. TCS specializes in making crawlers, which are vehicles that traverse large rocks and other obstacles. If you are skilled at rock crawling, you can vie with other crawlers in radio-controlled rock crawling competitions. The TCS Crawler comes as a basic chassis kit that includes wheels, motor and a tubular frame. The TCS body panel kit (sold separately) installs onto the chassis in a matter of minutes.

1
Prepare the body panels for painting by wiping them down with a rag dampened with solvent. Work in a well-ventilated area such as a garage or outdoors. Allow the panels to dry.
-
2
Lay the panels on a work area protected with sheets of newspaper. Or if desired, hang the panels with metal bailing wire.
-
-
3
Spray a thin, even coat of model primer from a spray can onto all the panels. Allow the primer to dry according to the directions on the can.
-
4
Spray the panels with model paint from a spray can in thin, even coats. Apply several thin coats as opposed to one heavy coat. Allow the paint to dry according to the directions on the can.
-
5
Place the roof panel on top of the tubular chassis with the slightly pointed end facing forward. Run seven zip ties (included with body panel kit) through the mounting holes in the body panel, and wrap around the tubes in the roof structure. Pull the zip ties tight and trim off the excess with a sharp utility knife.
-
6
Place the hood panel on the front of the tubular chassis with the rounding part of the panel facing forward. Attach the panel to the chassis with seven more zip ties (included with body panel kit) in the same fashion as the roof panel.
-
7
Attach the side body panels to each side of the tubular chassis, lining up the mounting holes in the panel with the snap fittings on the chassis. Push each panel into position until it snaps into place.
