How to Use the 2004 Cadillac CTS CD Player

A CD player came standard with the 2004 Cadillac CTS sport sedan. However, there were two models available: a six-disc CD player and a single-disc CD player. Although the players are similar, there are differences in operation. The six-disc CD player also has a few more features than the single-disc CD player.

Instructions

  1. Using the Six-Disc Player

      Press the "Load" button on the left side of your stereo control panel. Wait until the the digital display shows "Insert."

      Insert the CD partially into the center slot with the label facing up. The automatic feed system will pull the CD inside. After the CD is accepted, the CD slot number will appear on the display.
      If you want to eject a CD, press "Eject" followed by the CD slot number.

      Load multiple CDs at once by pressing and holding "Load" for two to three seconds. The display will show "Please Wait." Insert a disc when "Insert" appears. After it is accepted, "Insert" will appear again, and you can insert the next disc.

      Alternate between the discs by pressing the "F2" button to advance to the next disc. You can press "F1" if you want to switch to a previous disc. These buttons are located side by side, directly beneath the display screen on your 2004 Cadillac CTS' CD player. Press the "CD<<" or "CD>>" button to skip forward or backward on the CD's tracklist. Press and hold the appropriate button to fast forward or rewind.

    Using the Single-Disc Player

      Insert the CD partially into the center slot. The automatic feed will pull the CD inside the player.

      Press the "Seek" up or down button to select different tracks on the CD. The single-disc player does not have a fast-forward or rewind feature.

      Press "Eject" when you are ready to eject the disc.

Tips & Warnings

  • The 2004 Cadillac CTS' CD player has a feature called retained accessory power. With this, you can use your CD player for up to 10 minutes after the ignition if turned off and the key is removed.
